KTTC Participated in YWCA Diversity Day
On January 14th, 2017, KTTC participated in the Diversity Day organized by the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA. The event was part of the Martin Luther King Jr Birthday celebration events. The event included fun activities, musical performances, and fitness aerobic dances at the gym. The main activity of the event was a certified 5K race.
Runners and participates were first greeted by different vendors at the gym while they were registering. Some of the vendors included Radio System Corp (PetSafe), UT Athletics, and Knoxville Women Rugby Club. KTTC was one of the vendors and we setup a table with a Newgy RoboPong robot to challenge our guests.
The robot was a hit. Kids and adults were amazed by an equipment like the RoboPong. The robot gave our guests plenty of challenges.
For YWCA, the event was a great success with over 200 runners participated in the race. YWCA is always instrumental in developing a sense of community in the Knoxville inner city area.
KTTC was proud to be part of the events. On behalf of KTTC, I would like to thank Kathy McMillan and Ely Yang for volunteering at the table and their coaching tips for our younger guests who took the RoboPong challenge. We looked forward to the event next year.
